Responsibilities
Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time intern for the Corporate Compliance Department. In this role, the intern will work alongside a team of innovative professionals and contribute to Atlantic's mission of delivering excellent healthcare services to our communities. The intern's responsibilites will include but not be limited to:
Investigate HIPAA privacy compliance matters by assisting with scheduling, fact-finding, interviewing, summarizing outcomes and documenting on appropriate platforms
Escalate calls from the Employee Hotline as appropriate and collaborate across departments to implement the appropriate corrective action
Develop training materials and documentation necessary for ad-hoc compliance training
Prepare and deliver presentations for educational purposes (case studies, pivot tables, etc.)
Support Compliance in the implementation of special projects to improve the operations of the department (conversion of annual mandatory compliance training, chatbot, developing and maintaining appropriate tools and applications, other initiatives as assigned)
Research, review and draft department policies and SOPs
Provide support to the department as necessary throughout an audit process
Track, organize and distribute department supplies and giveaways
Perform data analytics and organize survey results to identify key insights and trends
Conduct research on best practices and industry standards relating to compliance, privacy and ethics, and other topics specific to the Compliance department
Participate in regular department meetings with the Compliance team
Work*?¯alongside your manager to*?¯build your acumen and*?¯integrate with your team
Qualifications
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full-time accredited public or private College/University
Ideally pursing a degree in Pre-Law, Political Sciences, Government Affairs, or a similarly related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be in good academic standing
Proficient with Excel & Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication skills (Written & Verbal)
US Citizen or permanent resident
Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship
