The Assistant Director for Post-Approval Monitoring (PAM) and Quality Assurance, reporting to the Director, Human Research Protections Program, plays an integral role in the Human Research Protection Program’s responsibilities to ensure compliance with federal, sponsor, and institutional responsibilities and the protection of research participants. It achieves these responsibilities through the successful management of the PAM Program’s day-to-day activities, including conducting for-cause and routine monitoring, preparing PAM reports and presenting them to relevant parties (e.g., investigators, IRB, institutional officials), and facilitating communication among stakeholders throughout the PAM process.
