The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center Human Research Protections Office is seeking a highly motivated, knowledgeable, goal-driven professional with outstanding communication skills to join our team as the HRRC (IRB)Sr Program Manager. This is an exciting position for the selected candidate, who will have the opportunity to assist with the generation of program training, processes, and criteria.
The institution's Human Research Protections Program (HRPP) is a comprehensive program to ensure the protection of the rights and welfare of subjects involved in human research and is accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protections Programs (AAHRPP). The Human Research Protections Office supports four institutional review boards (IRBs). The office promotes the safety and protection of individuals involved in human research by providing support, guidance and education to facilitate ethical and scientifically sound research.
The HRRC (IRB) Sr Program Manager will:
1) Provide leadership and guidance for the teams performing Administrative Review, single IRB reliance, and Pre-Review and Post-Review of studies submitted for review by the IRB.
2) Provide support and guidance to investigators on content submitted for review by the IRB.
3) Closely align team processes and resources to meet goals and objectives of the unit.
4) Provide day-to-day supervision and oversight for the IRB operational workflow of the HRPP.
5) Designs, establishes, and maintains the HRPP staffing and an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the HRPP program function; will train, supervise, and evaluate HRPP program.
6) Develops and implements systems and processes to establish and maintain common office practices for the HRPP.
7) Supervises and engages in outreach with the research community; may produce and/or market project(s) and/or process improvement(s).
8) Work closely with the Executive Leadership and other members of Senior Leadership to identify and plan program improvements, establish performance goals, and then produces and monitors performance metrics.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; two of which are management level experience.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership experience. Demonstrated supervisory and operational experience. Experience preparing applications and other documents for submission to an Institutional Review Board (IRB). Experience monitoring or coordinating human research activities in a clinical setting or in an IRB setting. Direct experience in IRB Administration. Experience using an electronic IRB submission program. Experience with Click IRB is a plus. Policy and Procedure development. Fluency in medical terminology. Expertise in Federal, State and local regulations and guidelines for the conduct of human subjects research. Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Access) and other database programs.
