Description
. The Imaging Research Center (IRC) at CCHMC is a multi-disciplinary core facility that supports enterprise-wide image-based clincal and translational research. Our cross-disciplinary team utilizes multimodal image-types in collaboration with investigators from Radiology, Pulmonary Medicine, Neonatology, Cardiology, and more. We are now seeking a talented and industrious Image Analyst, who will be responsible for image data management, processing, analysis, and other data-related tasks.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform experiments and record data - Follow established protocols for image data management, annotation, and processing. Independently troubleshoot and modify existing protocols when necessary. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work. Transfer image data between internal servers, devising and implementing organizational schema when necessary. Quickly and accurately perform segmentation of tissues/organs to the specification of each study. Generate regions of interest and provide quantitative metrics to the specification of each study. Maintain subject- and study-level data in an organized manner. Keep records with sufficient detail to reproduce and audit completed exams.
Research and improve current methods - Innovate existing image processing workflows to improve efficiency and/or reliability. Establish and validate new image processing workflows to improve accuracy and/or expand functionality.
Serve as a Resource - Participate actively in laboratory meetings, presenting data and results when appropriate. Effectively communicate with team members and contribute to growth by describing and demonstrating workflows and relevant principles underlying them. Generate figures, tables, and other materials for reports, publications, and abstracts. Direct trainees in established protocols.
Lab Administration - Stay abreast of changes in key systems (e.g. updates/bug fixes to 3rd party software) and any ramifications to workflows, existing datasets, or study designs. Conduct regular quality assurance and reproducibility checks. Keep up to date with publications/innovations in the field and advise on adoption.
Customer Service - Respond to requests quickly and effectively. Identify and understand client needs. Maintain active and clear communication with clients, colleagues, and other lab members.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, electrical engineering, or related field
1 year of work experience in a related job discipline OR Master's degree in a related field
Strong communication skills in written and verbal English, and ability to work both independently and as a team member to accomplish core objectives.
Preferred:
Experience in medical imaging research
Experience with image processing software/toolkits (e.g. MIRTK, ImageJ)
Basic competency in at least one programming language (e.g. MATLAB, Python)
