Overview
Performs research in collaboration with others to complete science-based projects. Makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results. Maintains a high level of professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature. Provides support to the research department in the execution and maintenance of studies. Maintains, updates, and may establish various databases for project tracking. Maintains project operations files.
The Research Associate I works to achieve the day-to-day tasks and activities essential to implementation of a research project. Contributions support the project team.
Responsibilities
Assists with research project tasks as assigned. (70%)Assists with proposal writing tasks.Carries out procedures associated with scientific literature review.Carries out specific research project tasks, as directed. Collects data and summarizes results.Assists with writing manuscripts. Assists with the organization of key project activities (e.g., meeting logistics, submission forms).Maintains project files in collaboration with the project team.Participates on departmental and organizational work teams related to projects assigned. May be responsible for project communication including notes and minutes. (25%)Assists with the tracking of progress of project components and regularly communicates/reports status to the project leader. Maintains a project work plan in collaboration with the project team. (5%)Qualifications
Associate Degree, preferably in a healthcare-related, technical field or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree preferred.Academic and/or work experience with scientific/research methods and research activities.Demonstrated ability to follow policies and procedures.Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly MS Word, MS Excel). Demonstrates the ability to quickly learn and master new applications.Ability to identify, define, and addresses problems associated with implementation of specific tasks or research activities, and make minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems and/or knows when to elevate an issue.Ability to communicate with parties within and outside of own area to exchange information related to topic area.Ability to write clearly and professionally, and submitted work generally appears to have been proofread.Note: Employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID -19 as a condition for employment.
