Histotechnologist Research
JOB SUMMARY: Prepares tissue specimens for microscopic examinations and handles the more specialized histo- and immunocyto-chemistry testing within the Dept of Anatomic Pathology under occasional guidance; maintains adequate quality control data. Processes specimens for molecular testing. Troubleshoots processes and needed. Responsible for high volume workload and stat requests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organizes and prepares specimens for Microscopic Examinations.
Processes and organizes clinical samples.
Staining (including histo and immunocyto chemical procedures).
Troubleshooting of research histogoloical samples.
Trains and documents proficiency of resident/staff assigned by supervisor and provides on-going in-service as appropriate.

DIAGNOSTIC TESTING - (NOVICE): Demonstrates proficiency of diagnostic testing in practical applications. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results.
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE - (INTERMEDIATE):- Demonstrates mastery of preventive maintenance in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully maintaining equipment, products, or systems without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to conduct predictive maintenance on core products and equipment.
