We have an exciting internal opportunity to join DigITs as a Research Project Associate in collaboration with the Genitourinary Oncology Service (GU) in the Department of Medicine (DOM). This is a key role that is responsible for quality assurance and assessment of data curated from a third-party vendor employed by MSK. You will be a liaison between Informatics and disease management departments in addition to applying your analytical skills to understand large-scale patient medical data.MSKCC IMPACT assay is a robust database that plays a large role in cancer at this institution. Sequence data is acquired for IMPACT patients however, outside of demographics and lab values very little clinical information exists as structured data for these patients. The pan cancer IMPACT curation effort is for third party vendors to curate unstructured data elements for IMPACT patients to create structured data that can be utilized for future cancer efforts.
Attend meetings with disease management (GU) liaison as well as third-party vendor employees regarding the curated patient dataset. Answer questions that arise from meetings.
Maintain the quality of patient data in a redcap database by assessing clinical data from HIS, CIS, EMR.
Require the utilization of knowledge from training by Q/A clinical GU advisor to assess the accuracy and precision of curated data elements from vendor.
Work closely with biostatisticians and other departments on data cleaning and assist in the creation of an abstract/manuscript publication.
Develop new creative ideas in facilitating and capturing accurate information being curated for IMPACT patients.
Ensure the weekly assessment of patient data records and implement any changes needed to enhance the precision of data elements per patient reviewed.
Generate reports to all necessary parties on the progress of the patient quality curation from VASTA.
Adept at learning quickly, applying insights from past efforts to new situations.
An excellent communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences

1+ years of experience working in clinical setting with HIS and exposure to medical terminology
Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Experience with Redcap and building/managing databases preferred
Monday - Friday (9am-5pm) remote
