Research Billing Compliance Specialist (RN or CCRP/CCRC)
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Research Billing Compliance, the Research Billing Compliance Specialist:
Will input/review/submit eligibility documentation into data capture systems for portfolio of studies to identify and resolve any registration discrepancies;
Abstracts information from the Electronic Medical Record for multiple studies;
Notifies Research Nurses across departments of patients on multiple studies and imports research patient registration forms;
Reviews/updates EPIC for research patients who have completed studies;
Assigns D&H accounts for appropriate charge capture;
Works closely with Principal Investigator and Research Nurse to resolve patient billing errors; audits studies confirming charges and distributions are accurate.
5 years' experience in clinical research
Strong communication, presentation and organization/planning skills
Strong data and analysis skills producing complicated queries over Oracle and SQL databases
Exposure to technical documentation and standard change management processes
General programming experience
Implementation experience of Healthcare applications in a complex environment
Business Analysis skills working with customers to develop solutions involving People, Process and Technology
Owns assigned responsibilities without the need for close supervision
Participates in on-call support with team
Proficient in Excel and can quickly learn new systems that support the primary functions of clinical trials management and hospital billing revenue cycle
Detailed-oriented, methodical and goal driven
Registered Nurse Licensure or CCRP or CCRC Certification required
Working knowledge of Clinical Research guidelines and Grants
Excellent computer skills and knowledge of databases/systems
Ability to multitask retaining focus and detailed oriented
Experience with Revenue Cycle and Charge Capture
Strong knowledge of Medicare Guidelines relevant to clinical trials billing
Experience in clinical trial contracting, budgeting and negotiations
Experience with EPIC Research Module and implementation with a Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS)
Knowledge of billing requirements related to clinical trials at academic institution
