JOB SUMMARY:
The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) supports the faculty and clinicians of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine's clinical departments in the areas of appointments and promotions, compliance and conflict of interest reporting, and professional development. OFA employs an extensive suite of IT applications to manage these tasks. In this role, as a member of the OFA team, the Sr. Program Manager will interact with faculty members and clinicians, department chairs and department administrators, and members of VUMC and School of Medicine senior leadership. This position will require an extensive understanding of the processes managed by the Office of Faculty Affairs along with the technological solutions needed to manage these processes.
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:
To provide faculty advocacy, promote academic quality, and advance the strategic goals of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSM) by the following:
- supporting the hiring of outstanding and diverse faculty members;
- providing support and education to VUSM departments;
- overseeing the appointments and promotions process;
- fostering the development, implementation, and interpretation of faculty policies;
- facilitating access to training and compliance requirements;
- administering conflict of interest, disclosure, and review policies;
- providing professional development programs for faculty members;
- managing emeritus and endowed chairs nominations;
- supporting VUSM department chair searches.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management - IT Liaison
Responsibilities:
- As a member of the OFA team, collaborate closely with OFA staff and leadership to provide key OFA services. As the OFA's role in the medical center expands, the responsibilities of this position are expected to expand accordingly.
- Act as liaison between VUMC IT, outside technology vendors, and OFA in the implementation of OFA specific vendor IT solutions and maintenance of existing OFA applications.
- Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness/performance of OFA applications. Coordinate implementation of necessary improvements and enhancements with VUMC IT.
- Work with OFA leadership in development of training related to IT systems implementation and updates for target customers.
- Develop communication plan for rollout of vendor IT solutions.
- Develop and maintain processes for managing user access and permissions for OFA applications.
- Provide point of contact for faculty members, department administrators, and other users experiencing issues with OFA applications, acting as liaison with IT support.
- Provide point of contact for OFA team members experiencing problems with OFA applications or other IT issues, acting as liaison with IT support.
- Work with OFA managers to develop content for and maintain OFA website.
- Coordinate special projects related to IT systems impacting VUMC faculty and clinicians.
- Support OFA programming by coordinating event logistics, including technology support.
- Research and stay abreast of new technology resources, internal and external to Vanderbilt, including resources for education delivery.

Compliance Training for Faculty
Responsibilities
- Oversee the IT vendor solution supporting compliance training for the School of Medicine faculty.
- Build relationships with training stake holders for development of new training requirements and planning of new initiatives.
- Gain that thorough understanding of the requirements and support faculty in accessing and completing training requirements.
