The Supervisory Program Specialist (Human Research Protection Program Administrator) serves as the primary institutional contact for human research protection and human research projects. The incumbent is responsible for the management of the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP), including general administration, planning, and oversight of all matters related to research involving human subjects. The incumbent reports directly to the Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS)/Research and Development.

Implements and maintains records of a comprehensive Healthcare System education program
provides guidance and counsel on incorporating compliance-related activities into the day-to-day operations
analyzes legislation from the VA Office of Research and Development (VA ORD), and other regulatory bodies
develops local procedures which implement agency policies on the applied research program development, administration and evaluation.
verifies that reports required by the facility are verified, accurate, and submitted within required time-frames
provides direct oversight and supervision of two and a half positions
