Position Description:

The Office of Human Research Protection Program (OHRPP) is part of the Office of Research Administration (ORA) and supports the billion dollar research program at UCLA by providing leadership, professional guidance and administrative services to faculty, department administrators, and students. The OHRPP is the central administrative office supporting the UCLA Human Research Program (HRPP) in ensuring the ethical treatment of human subjects in research conducted by UCLA. The OHRPP also helps ensure compliance with federal regulations, state laws, and University policies as well as national standards for research involving human subjects. The OHRPP supports five UCLA Institutional Review Boards (IRBs; 3 for biomedical research and 2 for social-behavioral research) and manages relationships with a range of external IRBs to ensure oversight of more than 6,000 active protocols at any given time.

The Education and Quality Improvement Senior Analyst (EQI Senior Analyst) develops and uses specialized regulatory knowledge to support the Quality Improvement Unit (QIU) of the OHRPP and human subject research enterprise at UCLA in the following primary areas of responsibility: 1) prepare for and conduct post-approval monitoring of human subject research; 2) create and present education related to IRB submission and human subject protection to diverse stakeholders; and 3) contribute to the design and execution of internal OHRPP audits.
