Full-time administrative position responsible for oversight of VA-engaged biomedical and behavioral research activities and the corresponding facilities. Primary functions include: ensuring facilities and equipment meet the needs of investigators through customer service; participating in various research compliance activities, including but not limited to regulatory committees to ensure compliance of the research program with all applicable regulations; collaborating with many medical center departments to secure assistance and resources for investigators to advance the success and scientific rigor of VA-engaged research activities; assisting investigators with submission of VA grants; and communicating with VA Office of Research & Development to accomplish administrative oversight of VA research expenditures.
The VA Northern California is the 10th largest VA medical center in the US, headquartered in Sacramento, and affiliated with the University of California Davis. The medical center includes a 71-bed acute care hospital with the full range of health services including medical, surgical, primary care, and mental health care, as well as a 12,000 square-foot research laboratory. In addition, we have a large outpatient clinic east of Oakland with a full range of medical, surgical, mental health, and diagnostic outpatient services, including a specialized Veteran TBI program via the Center for Integrated Brain Health and Wellness. In addition, a Center for Rehabilitation and Extended Care is located adjacent to this outpatient facility.
Prior administrative and supervisory experience in a VA research program is preferred
