Assists the Director of Research Compliance in fostering a culture of compliance across the CMU community. Assumes primary responsibility for implementing a robust program of continuous program assessment and quality improvement in the operations of committees responsible for overseeing research and for education of committee members and investigators. Oversee operations of Office of Research Compliance in absence of the Director.
At least 2 years of research compliance experience.
Working knowledge of federal regulations for the protection of human and animal subjects in research, and use of recombinant molecules.
Professional certification in at least one area of research or corporate compliance or ethics, or ability to attain certification within 2 years of hire.
Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Ability to prioritize work of self and of others and to meet deadlines.
Proficiency with MS Office programs.
