Applies clinical and research knowledge in effective management of research protocols by coordinating, evaluating, and following patient participation in Oncology clinical studies. Oversees recruitment of patients by screening patient eligibility of potential study participants with physicians, leading to consent and enrollment as appropriate. Performs protocol mandated activities including monitoring and evaluating patient responses to interventional therapies and specimen collection and administers medications as directed. Schedules and tracks protocol related, diagnostic tests and follow-up appointments. Documents and organizes protocol related activities consistent with protocol guidelines, institutional and departmental policies, Good Clinical Practice and Federal Regulations. Evaluates adverse and serious adverse events with the physician, documenting and reporting to the appropriate agencies within the required timelines. Acts as a liaison with physicians, clinical staff, pharmacy, study sponsors, cooperative groups and pharmaceutical companies. Educates patients and staff regarding protocol specific information. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements & Minimum Qualifications
1. Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program with a BSN required
2. Three to five years oncology nursing experience required
3. Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification preferred or willing to obtain
4. Clinical research experience preferred, certification preferred or willing to obtain
5. State of Idaho Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho
6. BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation
