This position supports human subject protection across Broad’s research areas. It works to ensure adherence to regulatory and institutional requirements related to research involving human subjects. This support includes, but is not limited to, targeted regulatory reviews of new projects and protocols, monitoring of adherence to training requirements, and maintenance of accurate electronic records in a departmental database.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)
*Reviews internal requests and makes initial determinations for “not human subjects research” and “not engaged” status requests, with oversight by Senior Review Specialist; manages all communication and follow-up activities with researcher applicants
Participation as ORSP representative on the Broad’s Biosafety Committee
*Project entry, maintenance, testing, and training related to departmental database
Record keeping and generation of official meeting minutes for Broad Genomics Board of Managers
*Monitoring of Broad employee training records related to human subject protections, updates and corrections to training database as needed
*Assistance as needed with compliance audits of genomic sequencing orders to ensure adherence to Broad policies related to human subject protections
Assistance, as needed, with maintenance of Broad’s accreditation status with the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs
Assistance, as needed, with development and maintenance of departmental SOPs
Assistance, as needed, with applications to Broad’s Institutional Review Boards of record
May perform other duties as assigned
1+ years of administrative or project coordinator experience, preferably in academic or research environment
Experience in research compliance, IRB preferred
Training experience preferred
Comfortable learning new software and technology
Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Normal office conditions
