Director Research Protections
As a Director you will direct and oversee the Office of Research Protections and report to the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer. You are responsible for the adherence and enforcement of federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines to assure compliance with the required governing bodies in the performance of research (e.g. FDA, USDA, OHRP, etc.). Provide training, oversight, work delegation and performance reviews for direct reports. Accountabilities To Include
Oversee the Main Line Hospitals Institutional Review Board (MLH IRB) in cooperation with the MLH IRB Chairperson.
Oversee the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research (LIMR) Biosafety in cooperation with the Chairpersons and the LIMR Radiation Safety Program.
Responsible for providing administrative support for the MLH IRB, MLH Privacy Board, IACUC, and Biosafety and Chemical Safety Committees.
Responsible for maintaining a Federal Wide Assurance for the MLH with the OHRP and a PHS Animal Welfare Assurance
Responsible for maintaining AAALAC accreditation of the Animal Care Program and AAHRPP accreditation for the MLH Human Research Protection Program
Serve as an IRB, Biosafety and IACUC member and attends at least 80% of meetings.
Responsible for the approval of policies and SOPs to assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies relating to human and animal research.
Responsible for the radiation safety, chemical safety and biosafety programs at LIMR.
Review, assess and present Conflict of Interest(s) disclosures in research submitted to the Office of Research Protections.
Ten (10) years professional experience in Research Regulatory Oversight experience and/or preclinical research experience at an academic medical center preferred. Supervisory experience needed.
Experience in clinical research and an understanding of regulatory affairs relating to biomedical science. Working knowledge of IRB and IACUC activities and responsibilities.
Certified IRB Professional (CIP) certification
Electronic Submission experience preferred
Superior written and oral communication skills
Microsoft Office with strong use of Excel including hyperlink, pivot tables
