Salary The salary range for this classification is $3,288 to $5,695 per month. The targeted salary may be set as high as $3,890 per month based on experience.

Appointment Dates Full-time temporary position for three years with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
Position Description The Human Subjects Compliance Specialist serves as the Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliance coordinator. Performs the pre-review of submitted human subject protocols and facilitates the distribution of protocols to the IRB for review, modification, and approval. Prepares all correspondence including agendas, minutes, modifications, and approval letters. Guides researchers in documentation preparation and online submission. Manages all IRB records in compliance with regulations. Conducts training of IRB processes and procedures for the campus community.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of human subjects research protection regulations, especially as they are applied in a university setting. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of IRBNet preferred. Ability to work with a wide range of constituency ranging from faculty, students, and administration. Strong organizational and project management skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including excellent grammar skills. Ability to conduct face-to-face presentations to students, faculty, and administration. Strong attention to detail.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of related experience in human subjects research administration in higher education required. Master's degree preferred. Certified IRP Professional (CIP) is preferred.
